In the beginning...
We decided to adopt a baby in December, 2005 after many prayers and discussions. Originally, we planned to adopt from Russia but our hearts felt pulled towards Guatemala a couple weeks later. The Freeman family took a vote and has chosen to request a female infant. Her name will be Isabella.
We signed our contract with For This Child to begin our adoption journey last Monday, February 20, 2006. We received our packet of information Wednesday evening and have been "paper chasing" ever since. It is a frantic scramble to gather documents from four different states so that we can complete step one. It seems each step has its own set of steps and they, in turn, have their own set, etc... It will all be worth it when the day comes that we get to bring Isabella home.
