What a week!

We received notice today from our wonderful agency that our case was entered into Family Court on June 16th! This is great news! Our case is moving right along, so far! For those not familiar with the process, Family Court is the part of the Guatemalan side of the adoption when a social worker is assigned to our case, interviews the birthmother, foster mother, and all others related to the case and then makes a judgement on whether the adoption is in the best interests of the child. If the social worker agrees that it is, we will exit Family Court. The DNA sample that was taken from Isabella and her birthmother the other day is not related to the Guatemalan side, but the US Embassy side of the adoption. Before our case can move into the final portion of the adoption process (PGN), we have to have approval from the US Embassy (which is partially based on the DNA results) and have exited Family Court. So, we're on our way!
